All time record: 61 sailors with 11 nationalities participated the Finnish Nationals during the weekend. Tricky conditions, but the same for all. Fair and good racing! Huge thanks to all participants, volunteer race officers, our hosts at Kristalliranta and the organizers.

Overall: Winner P36 Karol Jablonski, 2nd C45 Mihkel Kosk, 3rd C20 Rasmus Maalinn.

Finnish Championship medals were handed to the three best Finnish sailors as follows: Gold L601 Johnny Winquist, Silver L137 Teemu Rantanen, Bronze L112 Reko Suojanen

Pyhäjärvi, Säkylä.

We have just completed Grand Masters Cup here. Ice is brilliant and wind forecast also appears good.

The scouting teams are currently focusing the efforts to Säkylä and Hanko. Other locations are being followed in the background.

There have been already some sailors on ice at Hanko – reporting ice good for sailing. Sailors will be on ice at Säkylä latest Thursday – but according to the local contacts the ice appears good there as well.

The organizing committees will keep on following the weather forecasts and conditions very closely. It is rather warm week ahead of us.

World Championship regatta was completed on Wednesday with fine results from team Finland:

Gold fleet: 1st P113 Michal Burczynski, 2nd P155 Lukasz Zakrzewski, 3rd C53 Joonas Kiisler … 19th L601 John … 25th L139 Ossi, 28th L103 Timo, 39th L37 Cara.

Silver fleet: 1st L132 Oscar Lindell !!!!!!! 2nd Z78 Ueli Marti, 3rd L112 Reko Suojanen !!! 16th L69 Sam, 34th L65 Mike

Bronze fleet: 1st S885 Niklas Philipsson, 2nd C80 Karl Ader, 3rd C43 Meelis Kosk … 18th L151 Rudy, 23rd L143 Kimmo, 32nd L371 Timo, 39th L154 Claudia.

Today Thursday was a layday due to missing wind. The European Championship regatta is expected to start tomorrow Friday.

Notice of Race published and registration is open!

DN Finland warmly welcomes all eligible Grand Masters (60 years of age by 27 Feb 2024) to participate the Grand Masters Cup 2024. The event will take place 27-29 Feb 2024.

You are also welcome to participate in the Finnish Championship regatta, which will be sailed immediately after the GM Cup, 2-3 March 2024. Hopefully the location is the same. An awesome opportunity for a complete week of race and joy with good friends!

There has been some change in the DN Finland race eligibility check process. All you need to know as a sailor it that the eligibility documents are to be send via e-mail to kelpoisuus@icesailing.fi.
